Welcome the unofficial BMW Z4 M, as G-Power likes to call it. The German tuner just launched a series of upgrades for the BMW Z4 M40i, lifting its output to 500 hp (373 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb×ft) of torque.
The extra 160 hp / 120 kW and 200 Nm / 148 lb×ft are courtesy of a modified turbocharger, a larger intercooler, a new exhaust system and an ECU tune. Once applied, the package helps the car bolt from zero to 100 km/h much faster than the standard 4.5 seconds – too bad we don’t know the exact numbers.
As far as pricing is concerned, the V3 engine software costs €1,950. You will also have to hand over €3,450 for the turbocharger, €1,950 for the downpipe and catalyst, and €1,750 for the intercooler. Lifting the 300 km/h (186 mph) electronic speed limit costs an additional €595, while measuring the actual resulting output at the dyno will set you back €357.
That said, G-Power ships a number of cheaper boost kits for those who would like to save a bit. The three kits are rated at 380, 410 and 450 horsepower (283, 306 and 336 kilowatts, respectively).
If you would like something to show for the tuning, G-Power ships 20-inch Hurricane RR dual-five-spoke forged wheels for the Z4 M40i. This wheel model is being marketed as the lightest in its class.
