BMW Z4 (G29) gets a low stance courtesy of H&R

H&R continues to fill in the gaps in its lowering kit assortment for popular modern cars. Several days ago the new G29 BMW Z4 joined the club with up to 40mm (1.6”) of height reduction.

The full lowering kit incorporates the coil-over springs and a special module used to suppress the ‘Tampered’ messages sent by the adaptive shocks system upon detecting third-party mods. It comes in at a hefty €1,750 and drops the ride height by 20-40mm (0.8” – 1.6”) on the front axle and by 15-35mm (0.6” – 1.4”) on the rear one. Opting for just the coil-overs costs €1,510.

Those willing to retain the functionality of the adaptive suspension in full are invited to consider regular short springs. A full set costs the same €324 for all specs, and while the expensive M40i spec only goes down by 25mm (1”) on both axles, the more affordable sDrive 20i and 30i go down 35mm (1.4”). Handling should become easier at higher speeds, and comfort should stay unchanged, according to the manufacturer.
