This BMW Z4 pays homage to Elvis Presley

German tuning company Estella-Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH has unveiled a retromod project based on the latest BMW Z4. Inspired by the bacjground of the BMW 507 once driven by Elvis Presley, the tuners came up with the Tender 5.7 – a truly unique and powerful roadster named after one of the musician’s best-known songs.

Presley’s vast car collection included a rare roadster that he bought while doing military service in Europe. It belonged to a production batch of just 254 units. Elvis brought it into the United States, and the subsequent fate of the car is lost to history.

Collectors only managed to pinpoint the location of the singer’s BMW 507 in mid-2000s. The Bavarian automaker volunteered to buy out the car (or, rather, salvage what little remained of it), and had spent several years meticulously restoring it to its original state. Elvis’ German ride is now exhibited at the company’s museum. It is considered the most valuable model 507 in existence with an estimated price of up to $10,000,000.

It's therefore no wonder why Estella-Fahrzeugtechnik decided to build a replica of it based on the Z4 chassis. The company fabricated new carbon-fiber bodywork inspired by the 1950s, complemented with period-correct round headlamps and radiator grille. The 3.0-liter I6 under the hood was equipped with new turbos, raising the output to the model’s iconic 507 metric horsepower (500 hp / 373 kW). Adjustable suspension struts and an expensive leather makeover for the cabin rounded off the ambitious project.

The company now plans to produce 15 such vehicles, each finished in its own, unique color combined with a strictly matched interior color scheme. Prices are rumored to start from €288,000, and some of the production slots are already bought.
