BMW has released the last portion of photos showing its upcoming Z4 roadster update, which shares the platform with the Toyota Supra.
The 3rd generation of the BMW Z4 will premiere at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California starting on August 26, 2018.
Strangely, the images revealed show what looks like a concept car, rather than the finalized production vehicle we’ve already seen before. Whether this means that the BMW Z4 gets some last-minute modifications or not we won’t likely know until the premiere.
The chassis that the German roadster and the Japanese coupe are both based upon has been jointly developed by the two car manufacturers over the course of several years. Its specifications are being kept secret so far. We expect it to make use of light aluminum alloys and maybe some composites as well.
The engine palette will reportedly consist of a 3.0L V6 turbo rated at around 390 hp (290 kW) and a lower-tier engine rated between 200 and 300 hp (150 – 225 kW).
