BMW says farewell to the Z4

The BMW Z4 Roadster is leaving production in March 2026, but not before sprouting a Final Edition in January.

The Final Edition is a fairly straightforward styling package for all Z4 versions that buyers will be able to opt in for. It comes with an exclusive matte black exterior finish and gloss black trim accents, but those who prefer one of the standard colors may pick them instead. The brake calipers are red, and so is the interior stitching. The M steering wheel comes wrapped in Alcantara in this version, and the side sills come with “Final Edition” lettering on them.

Prices have already been released for Europe. The entry-level four-cylinder Z4 spec will cost €7,400 to upgrade, but only because it needs the M package installed first. All higher specs already have it preinstalled at the factory, so the FE option adds just €4,200.

With the current Z4 generation on its way out and no successor in sight, the fate of the Bavarian company’s most popular roadster remains up in the air. Right now, it seems that BMW prefers to focus on its part-electric Neue Klasse lineup. We might see a successor there when the time comes, but it’s tricky to say when that may happen.
