A group of automotive designers has collaborated on a project called Aegis. The result is a stylish-looking car free from any specific brand’s restraints – but it won’t ever be mass-produced or even built, Carscoops reports.
BMW Designworks interior specialist Qiuchen Lee worked together with ex-VW designer Grigory Butin and Volvo Lead Artist Tiago Aiello. You may be able to discern some sources of inspiration in the final design, but the overall impression is that of a brand-free vehicle.
The wheels with their lightweight carbon rims reside at the corners of the body, necessitating large, flared arches. The roof is nearly all glass, resulting in a cabriolet-like look. The cabin is laconic and has no displays in sight; leather and aluminum seem to be the main trim materials. A racing yoke fulfills the function of a steering wheel.
As a one-off design study, the Aegis Concept has no technical specs.
