Michigan-based automaker Bollinger has added a new product to its portfolio: called B4, it is a cab-forward truck with 322 kilometers (200 miles) of claimed electric range.
The categorization of truck adopted in the United States divides the market into eight groups based on full weight. The B4 is a Class 4 vehicle, meaning it has a maximum load of 14,000–16,000 pounds (6,351–7,257 kilograms).
The layout of the vehicle is little different from the traditional diesel truck layout. The cab sits as far at the front as possible to maximize visibility and carrying capacity. Bollinger claims the truck is highly maneuverable thanks to a small turn radius.
Buyers will be able to decide between just one or two LiFePo4 battery packs, each supplying enough power for 161 kilometers (100 miles) of driving. The other parameters remain to be revealed, including launch date and pricing.
