A 1965 Brabham BT14/21 racecar along with a matching Ford Thames Trader Transformer are heading to an auction in Switzerland soon. There are no estimates thus far.
The Brabham team began participating in Formula 1 in the early 1960s (see video). In 1966, Jack Brabham became the world’s first and only F1 champion to win the race on a car he designed and built himself.
The vehicle on sale has undergone multiple rebuilds throughout its life, going through multiple eight-cylinder engines sized between 3.5 and 4.5 liters large in 1965–1968. The latest rebuild left it with a 3.9-liter V8 capable of 430 PS (424 hp / 316 kW).
