Brabus-tuned G-Class will set you back $1M+

A rather extreme example of the Brabus 800 Cabrio is up for grabs in Germany right now with an asking price of €906,000, or $1,058,500 in U.S. money. Like its name implies, it’s a G-Class droptop boosted to 800 metric horsepower.

The listing doesn’t state the mileage, leading us to suspect that the SUV is being offered “as new”. It certainly is a head-turner with a Widestar body kit made completely out of carbon fiber and 24-inch rally-style wheels in the arches. The interior has been redone from scratch using cream-tinted fine leather with some fancy stitching and perforation patterns. Carbon accents and tuner’s badges throughout liven up the otherwise monotonous trim.

And then there’s the engine. The base car is a Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG, so it commands a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, but this one churns out 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) instead of the stock 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW). As a result, it sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in four seconds flat despite its considerable bulk. The torque goes all the way to 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft), and a custom exhaust system ensures that everyone hears you drive by.

One of the bigger highlights of the Brabus 800 Cabrio comes in the shape of its automatic top, which reportedly consists of nearly 500 custom-made components and only takes 20 seconds to toggle. This may partially explain why the SUV costs so much compared to the standard G-Class AMG, which starts from around $200,000 in Germany if you pick similar equipment and trim.
