Bugatti reveals pics, name of its next hypercar, schedules live premiere

Bugatti released photos of its new hypercar model chiseled after the vintage EB110 SS. Apparently, the vehicle is called Centodieci (Italian for ‘110’) and will be emerging in a series of 10, priced at €8,000,000 each.

Just as we expected, the Chiron provides the technical basis for the model, including the marque’s signature eight-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine. Originally rated at 1,500 hp (1,120 kilowatts), it will receive a substantial boost in the Centodieci.

The EB110 SS analogies lie mostly in the fine detail, such as the five round air intakes, the bumper cutouts, and the grille size and shape. At the rear, the dual tailpipes now sit in the middle, and the brake lights boast a 3D effect.

Rumor has it the Bugatti Centodieci will be the company’s strongest vehicle ever. It still remains unknown whether this includes the concept cars from before. For instance, the 2016 Vision Gran Turismo Concept packed 1,672 hp (1,247 kW). Whether the newcomer is better than that remains to be seen.

As for the original EB110 SS (shown on the video), the series was launched in 1992. With carbon-Kevlar bodywork, it was lighter than the non-SS EB110 and sported a unique exhaust system design. A 3.5-liter, quad-turbo V12 delivered up to 611 hp (456 kW) to the wheels, accelerating it to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds.
