Bugatti launches a retro-styled EV for kids, costs €30,000

The Baby II is a kid car stylized to look like the 1924 Bugatti Type 35. Production will not begin until 2020, but the entire series of 500 cars is already sold out at the time of writing.

Depending on the drive mode, the electric motor can output either 1.36 horsepowers (1 kilowatt) or 5.5 hp (4.1 kW). That said, you can override the electronic speed limit to unleash the full potential of the engine (13.6 hp / 10 kW).

The car measures 2.8 meters (9.2 feet) long and 1 meter (3.28 feet) wide and weighs a hefty 230 kilos (507 lbs). Once fully charged, it has up to 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) of range.

Ettore Bugatti himself worked with his elder son Jean to design the original (Mk1) Baby car for his younger son Roland. The first vehicle produced 3.5 horsepower (2.6 kilowatts).
