The famous classic car auction company RM Sotheby’s will hold an auction for a unique Bugatti EB110 GT in January 2018.
Only 139 cars of this series were produced in 1991 – 1995. Those who found the $380,000 price tag too high at the time may now try to get their collector’s piece at last – although at no less than $950,000 this time around.
This particular Bugatti EB110 GT supercar has an interesting history. It rolled off the line in November 1993, but the client failed to pay for it, so it ended up gathering dust in a dealer’s garage until August Nüchter bought it in 1995. He barely used the vehicle in his homeland of Germany, but took it with him to the United States in late 90-s. Unfortunately, it turned out that his Bugatti EB110 GT required mandatory certification to drive in North America, which he couldn’t obtain until 2005.
As a result, the luxury vehicle has hardly ever left the garage with slightly over 4,500 kilometers on the odometer (that’s ~2,800 miles). Its hood compartment still houses the stock 3.5L, four-turbine, 500 hp engine, which accelerates the car 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.6 seconds. Mind you, the hood cover still sports the original manufacturer’s paint job, no worse for the wear.
