Bugatti presents a carbon-fiber smart wristwatch series

Bugatti and VIITA Watches have unveiled Carbone Limited Edition, claimed to be the world’s first smart watch produced in a strictly limited edition with carbon-fiber housing. Only 2,500 units will be made priced at €2,590 each.

Carbon fiber finds extensive use in all Bugatti cars and is widely regarded as an attribute of technological sophistication and luxury status in the automotive industry. The whole casing is molded from a single solid piece of carbon decorated with the marque’s signature light-blue accents.

This would not be the first chronometer designed by Bugatti, which has already sold Ceramique Edition One. Compared to that one, the Carbone Limited Edition weighs 13 percent less and stores 22 percent more battery power. It operates 15 days between charges with GPS features off and between 2 and 3 days with every function on.

The main feature of interest to Bugatti owners is that the watch automatically records your acceleration and lap times on the track. Like any other self-respecting smart watch, it monitors your heart rate and sleep, counts your steps and calculates stress levels.

The timepiece comes rated ‘100m waterproof’ and ships with a black and a grey wrist strap to choose between. An AMOLED display outputs 16.7 million colors, and the warranty term is 5 years.
