Bugatti Centodieci reaches pre-production stage

A year and a half after announcing its ultimate Centodieci hypercar, the French luxury automaker has finally proceeded to build the first pre-production unit.

According to reports, the engineering team has been busy all along planning the aerodynamics and the cooling system for the eight-liter W16 under the hood, but much work remains to be done. Among other things, the finished car body will have to endure exhaustive wind tunnel tests, while the chassis will be sent outdoors for dynamic tests.

For those who forgot, let us remember that the Centodieci takes after the EB 110 Concept and inherits its engine from the Chiron, albeit boosted to 1,600 PS (1,578 hp / 1,177 kW). Going from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes 2.4 seconds, and the top speed lies as high as 380 km/h (236 mph).

Production plans exist for ten such vehicles, and the entire batch has been sold out moments after the reveal. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the confirmed buyers. Prices begin from €8,000,000, and shipments are expected to start in 2022.
