If you missed your opportunity to buy one out of ten Bugatti Centodieci hypercars when they were announced, an ad in France offers one for €10.5 million. But wait, things are more complicated than that.
A closer look at the offer reveals that the seller proposes a ‘production slot’, i.e. a place in the waiting line for the Centodieci, rather than the car itself. This could mean that you would have to pay an extra €8 million or more for the car. On the plus side, since the assembly haven’t even started yet, you can specify any options you like and not settle for a ready specification.
The ultimate Bugatti comes based on Chiron powertrain and tech, but its 8.0-liter W16 enjoys a push to 1,600 PS (1,578 hp / 1,177 kW). Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 2.4 seconds, and the top speed lies at 380 km/h (236 miles per hour). The overall styling pays homage to the iconic EB110 SS.
As media learned last summer, Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the buyers. However, like all others, he would have to wait at least a year for the production to start. The company began preparations four months ago, and says it will be ready to begin deliveries in 2022.
