Bugatti’s La Voiture Noire hypercar costs a staggering €16M

Bugatti has made a spectacular entrance at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland unveiling a unique hypercar called La Voiture Noire. Priced at €16,000,000, there is no other new car in the entire world as expensive as this.

The sports coupe exists in a single copy and represents an homage to the 83-year-old Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic. It is also an anniversary build.

From the technical point of view, the La Voiture Noire is based on the modern Bugatti Chiron chassis. Despite this, it sports a completely different rear fascia with six tailpipes, a redesigned radiator grille, and original headlights.

Like its donor, the La Voiture Noire comes powered by a 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine. The company refuses to discuss its performance, so we are going to assume that it still churns out the factory-guaranteed 1,500 horsepower (1,119 kilowatts) and 1,600 Newton-meters (1,180 pound-feet) of torque. If true, it should enable the car to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in a trifling 2.5 seconds and only hit the electronic speed cap at 420 km/h (261 mph). With the limiter removed, the manufacturer claims the top going speed can ascend all the way to 485 km/h (301 mph).
