The French hypercar maker’s Instagram page features the announcement that the year 2020 is the ‘Year of Bugatti’, accompanied by what looks like a hypercar under wraps.
It remains anyone’s guess what kind of car is depicted on the photo. It might be another special edition of the Chiron, which has already proven to be quite popular with such modifications as the Sport, Divo, Sport 110 ans Bugatti, Centodieci, Super Sport 300+, and the unique €11M La Voiture Noire (see video). The latter debuted at the 2019 Geneva IMS as a design study, so it might become a production model later this year, although this is far from official.
Then again, maybe the mysterious newcomer is a fully standalone model that will be in production side-by-side with the Chiron. It has to be noted that, while Bugatti’s previous-gen hypercar – the Veyron – hit the company with serious net losses, the Chiron series has actually proven profitable.
Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann said earlier that the company was working on an ‘affordable’ electric four-seater priced somewhere between €500,000 and €1,000,000. Interestingly enough, the car is going to boast a slightly raised ride height, making it look a bit like a crossover.
