Watch world’s fastest Bugatti Chirons get track-tested in Nardo

The speediest Bugatti Chiron versions may have debuted quite some time earlier, but the actual shipments have yet to begin. The French hypercar maker decided to film a short video highlighting some pre-production test-driving moments.

The test crew of nearly 40 people drove the production candidate vehicles at the Nardò Ring, Italy. It proceeded to test the Chiron Pur Sport and Super Sport 300+ in various conditions for a whole month, trying to hit the claimed top speed of 400 km/h (248 mph). The total mileage exceeded 20,000 km (12,400 miles) towards the end of the testing period – quite a feat to accomplish on a racetrack like the Nardò Ring. As for the telemetry obtained, suffice it to say that engine adjustments alone produced nine gigabytes of text log data for further calibration.

The Pur Sport – the ultimate driver’s Chiron – is coming out in 60 units priced starting from €3,000,000. The Super Sport 300+ maxes out at 440 km/h (273.4 miles per hour) because of the manufacturer-set limiter and arrives in 30 units total, priced at €3,500,000 and above.
