This is what the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport fuel economy looks like

Experts have tried to assess just how much gas the insane Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport would burn in various scenarios and over a year of regular use. Apparently, the gas bills alone pile up to U.S. $4,150 per year, but let’s look at the details.

The 1,500-hp Chiron was found to consume 18 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers on average when driven exclusively on highways. This roughly corresponds to 15.7 UK miles per gallon, or 13 MPG in the States. In-city consumption shot through the roof with 29.4 liters of gas required per 100 km, which means 9.6 MPG in Great Britain and 8 MPG in the US. Finally, mixed-cycle usage resulted in 23.5 liters burned (UK: 12 MPG; USA: 10 MPG).

For those wondering what makes it so hungry, let us remind that the Chiron Pur Sport relies on an 8.0-liter W12 to propel it forward with 1,500 PS (1,479 hp, or 1,103 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque. Compared against the standard Bugatti Chiron, the ultimate driver’s hypercar boasts stiffer suspension, enhanced aerodynamics and a more even load distribution between axles. It also supports higher engine RPM counts and needs 2.3 seconds to zap from nothing to 100 km/h (62 mph). The second hundred kilometers (124 mph) is mere 5.5 seconds away from a standing start.

Bugatti is building 60 total units priced from €3,200,000.
