As you may know, hypercar maker Bugatti never had any dedicated customization department for its cars – perhaps because they were exclusive enough as is. There were a few one-off Chiron and Veyron projects, but that was it.
Things change now with the establishment of a subdivision called Sur Mesure (French for ‘bespoke tailored’). The newborn company’s first project is a Chiron Retro Sport with a retro styling reminiscent of the Type 51 racecar that Louis Chiron and Achilles Varzi drove to victory at the Grand Prix of France in the distant year 1931.
Like its antecedent, the Chiron Pur Sport by Sur Measure comes adorned by a hand-painted number 32. It also has an EB badge and comes finished in two colors associated with the most successful racecars of the 1920s and -30s.
Inside, there are EB (‘Ettore Bugatti’) emblems on the door panels and Grand Prix decals on the side sills matching the red stitching throughout. The center console bears black anodized aluminum inserts with silver lettering, and the number 32 is also found on the headrests.
Prices are not public.
