NHTSA recalls a Bugatti Chiron over loose front end

Some NHTSA recalls span hundreds, thousands or even hundreds of thousands of vehicles, but the latest one concerns exactly one Bugatti Chiron hypercar that likely had one bolt tightened less firmly than it should have.

The car was put together on November 16, 2017. According to manufacturer’s logs forwarded to NHTSA, one of the bolts holding the front frame support could be loose and needed servicing.

An internal investigation into this possible issue stated on March 3, 2022, when an employee of the car company suddenly discovered one torque wrench reporting false measurements. It continues until March 21 when a single potentially affected hypercar was determined and deemed in need of service.

The owner will be getting a notification that their vehicle needs to be fixed ASAP at the nearest available Bugatti service station.
