RM Sotheby’s will be auctioning off a unique Bugatti Chiron Profilée hypercar on February 1, 2023. With the Mistral roadster and the Bolide racecar already sold out, it will be the last W16-powered Bugatti on sale from the manufacturer. All proceeds will be donated to charities.
The French hypercar maker had originally intended to produce a sizeable batch of 500 such vehicles, but only one was made in the end. The work began in the fall of 2020 when one of the customers contacted the company asking for a ‘less radical’ alternative to the Pur Sport modification. The engineering team responded by removing the rear wing and devising a sleeker aerodynamic kit for the car.
Aside from being a one-off, the Profilée comes finished in an exclusive color known as Argent Atlantique, which mingles with exposed carbon fiber bits and a navy-blue lower body. The wheels are also unique and not used on any other Chiron in existence.
The springs are 10 percent stiffer than those of the Pur Sport, and the rear axle also enjoys a range of modifications aimed at improving traction in corners. Power comes from the marque’s standard eight-liter, quad-turbo W16 tuned to 1,500 PS (1,479 hp / 1,103 kW).
