According to Mate Rimac, the chief executive officer of the Rimac-Bugatti joint enterprise, the French hypercar brand will stay committed to the idea of fossil fuel cars to the last.
In his recent interview, Rimac said that Bugatti would continue producing ICE hypercars even after 2035, the year when the European Union plans to ban all ICE car production. It sounds like fines and fees don’t scare the traditional automaker one bit.
But this raises another question. Where would the few remaining ICE car owners refuel with most gas stations shut down and gone for good? Bugatti has a definitive answer for that, too: it will volunteer to build and maintain private gas stations at the buyers’ property. That doesn’t even sound too drastic, given the price point of the vehicles themselves.
