Bugatti Chiron bows out with L’Ultime Edition

Bugatti has revealed the final production example of the Chiron hypercar. It received the name “L’Ultime” and is being described as “the end of an era”. The owner identity and the price are secret.

The car is full of hints and references to the year 2016 when it was announced and to the company’s other vehicles. It comes finished in the same colors as the very first example to roll off the assembly line, but while that one wore two distinct shades of blue, this one sports a smooth gradient.

A closer look at the sides reveals the names of the assorted locations around the world that became iconic for the Chiron. For instance, “Geneva”, “Molsheim” and “Ehra-Lessien” refer to the racetracks where it set a new acceleration record. “Cape Canaveral” refers to the area where multiple Chiron owners took their supercars to for testing.

The number 500, which refers to the total production quantity, is also prominently featured in the fit-and-finish. It is present on a number of body panels, the rear wing, the engine bay lid and the interior trim. Speaking of the latter, it mostly consists of blue natural leather and color-matched carbon fiber.

From the technical perspective, this Bugatti Chiron is a Super Sport spec armed with an eight-liter W16 churning out 1,600 PS (1,578 hp / 1,177 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque.
