Bugatti launches a remote maintenance service

The luxury car maker Bugatti has launched a service to efficiently detect and troubleshoot any problems that might occur in Chiron hypercars, and to provide these with timely software updates.

This is how it is implemented. A large number of sensors monitor the wear and tear on all crucial parts of the engine, drivetrain, brakes and other vital units and parts of Bugatti Chiron cars. All data is uploaded to a main data center located in Molsheim, France, for further analysis and reaction. A similar technology has been previously used exclusively on the Formula One racecars.

The opulent Bugatti Chiron hypercar is driven by an 8.0-liter W16 engine outfitted with four turbochargers. The monstrous drivetrain produces up to 1,500 hp (~1,120 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb·ft) of torque.

Each vehicle costs U.S. $2,400,000 to buy.
