Rumor: Bugatti Chiron Divo has less HP at 2x the price of Chiron Sport

Bugatti has been recently holding a series of private presentations dedicated to its latest, still unannounced hypercar model. One of the participants let it slip in May that the upcoming vehicle has a “controversial design” and is not at all like the regular Chiron.

Another source said earlier today that the new vehicle would be called “Bugatti Chiron Divo”. It would feature an exclusive, racing-spec transmission design that would enable it to accelerate faster than the main Chiron series. This essentially means 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 2.5 seconds.

Allegedly, though, the top going speed of the new hypercar won’t exceed 385 km/h (240 mph). This is well below the speed limit of the main series and might just be the single most controversial thing about the vehicle. To compensate for that, Divo is going to be the most lightweight member of the family and thus be perfect for the race circuit.

According to industry professionals, the new Bugatti Chiron Divo may cost as much as $6,000,000 – twice the price of a new Chiron Sport. The manufacturer likely won’t be issuing more than 100 such vehicles.
