Bugatti has been tight-lipped about its upcoming Chiron-based hypercar series so far. Now it finally made it official that the newcomer will go under the name of Divo – an homage to the legendary 20th-century racing driver Albert Divo.
This is evident from the first teaser pic Bugatti published earlier today. The photo is a close-up of an interior detail with the word “Divo” embroidered on it.
Compared to the main Chiron series, the new Bugatti Chiron Divo will feature a body kit with advanced aerodynamic properties, a lightweight chassis, and improved steering.
An anonymous source also claims that the hypercar will be getting an 8.0-liter W16 monster engine equipped with four turbochargers for 1,500 hp / 1,120 kW total output. If so, its acceleration performance is going to surpass even that of the regular Bugatti Chiron.
Divo will debut in late August in California, USA. A total of 40 vehicles will roll off the assembly lines, each priced at nearly U.S. $6,000,000.
