Bugatti Chiron gets a dual panoramic glass roof

French car manufacturer Bugatti has unveiled a new option for its Chiron hypercar, called Sky View. The Sky View is a glass roof that is divided in two sections, one for the driver and the other for the front passenger.

Thanks to the Sky View those sitting in front of the vehicle get 27 cm (11”) of extra headroom. Each section is 65 cm (25.4”) long and 44 cm (17.2”) wide.

The panoramic roof is composed of four different layers of glass. The first layer provides sound and noise insulation, the second filters out infrared radiation, the third one tones down the sunlight, and the last one stops UV radiation.

The company emphasized that the Sky View does not affect the structural integrity of the vehicle or its overall safety.

The glass-roofed Bugatti Chiron will premiere at the Monterey Car Week festival in August. The price is being kept secret so far.
