Watch a $5M Bugatti Divo run QA tests prior to shipment

As Bugatti starts shipping the Divo, it puts each and every example through a series of thorough road tests to make sure they conform to the highest standards set by the French luxury marque.

The test crew wraps the entire vehicle in a special protective wrap and replaces the bottom with a temporary armor plate to avoid scratches and other kinds of inadvertent damage during testing.

First of all, test driver Steve Jenny checks whether the car fulfils the exact specifications the client requested it to fulfil. Then he proceeds to test the electric systems. The test driving stage lasts five hours and includes covering a 300-kilometer (186-mile) strip of road that includes suburban highways, regular streets and mountainous paths.

Bugatti uses a dedicated, restricted airbase runway to perform acceleration tests, getting each Divo from zero to 250 km/h (0-155 mph) prior to shipping.
