Bugatti has posted photos from the latest chapter in the worldwide adventures of its Mistral roadster. The hypercar made a recent stop in southern France to bask in the strong wind it was named after.
The mistral is a dominant wind in the Mediterranean region and is characterized by its unwavering, unrelenting force – explaining why Bugatti elected to put this name on its roadster. Powering the Mistral is a W16 quad-turbo engine rated at 1,600 PS (1,578 hp / 1,177 kW) – enough to attain a top speed of 420 km/h (261 mph).
The symbolic meeting at the French south pays homage to the legacy of the Bugatti marque, which started in that region. The car, dubbed ‘a masterpiece of engineering thought and design,’ is slated to reach customers in a production run limited to 99 units starting later this year. The entire batch has been already sold out.
