A curious road incident occurred in China last weekend starring a particularly temperamental Bugatti Veyron driver and a stubborn Bimmer who just wouldn’t let the other driver have his way.
According to the dash cam footage, the hypercar owner tried to switch to the right lane somewhat late to make a turn, but the man behind the wheel of a BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe didn’t let him through. He tried again, more insistently this time, but BMW failed to brake and instead rammed into the right side of the Veyron.
The hypercar wound up with a scratched right door and front fender. The impact wasn’t very forceful and the speed was probably low enough to avoid any structural damage, but there is no way without an expert examination. Either way, repairing a garage queen like the Veyron may set the owner back tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. Aggravating matters is the fact that it was a limited-edition car – a Grand Sport Vitesse L’Or Rouge.
According to witness reports, the Bugatti owner had initially acted aggressively and threatened the BMW driver, but ultimately agreed that he was at fault and even promised to buy him a new BMW.
