Afzal Kahn, founder and chief of the worldwide famous British car customization house Kahn Design, has announced the sale of a highly unique vehicle registration (license) plate which reads simply ‘F1’. The catch here is that the thing costs an eye-watering £ 14.4 million.
If that’s any consolation to you, this particular piece of metal has a history spanning 109 years into the past. It was in 1909 when the first car went out onto the streets of Great Britain wearing the ‘F1’ license plate. Afzal Kahn purchased it in 2008 at a ‘bargain’ £ 440,000 and proceeded to attach it onto his Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Carbon Edition.
The most expensive license plate in the entire history of Great Britain so far has been the one that read ’25 O’. Someone purchased it for their classical Ferrari 250 GT SWB at £ 518,480 four years ago.
