Bonhams Auctions will hold sales in Goodwood, England, centered on the last Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in the final production batch. The ultra-luxury vehicle is expected to fetch no less than £1.7 million.
The car wears a matte paintjob and features bright-red leather trimming inside. With its previous owner hardly using it and never taking it beyond Great Britain, it only has around 900 kilometers (560 miles) on its odometer.
A total of 30 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport cars have rolled off the assembly lines. The last one of the batch holds an 8-liter, 16-cylinder monster engine assisted by as many as four turbine chargers. Its performance is rated at 1,200 hp (895 kW).
The top going speed of the vehicle is artificially limited at 415 km/h (258 mph) to prevent the tires from rapid destruction. It can go faster, though, something proven 8 years ago by a racing driver who accelerated it to 431 km/h (268 mph), earning it the title of the world’s fastest-going car. The record was later challenged and renounced because of the disabled speed limiter.
At the auction, the vehicle I going to be accompanied by such retro cars as a 1964 Aston Martin and a 1932 Alfa Romeo, as well as some other modern hypercars by major manufacturers.
