One could argue that all Bugatti cars are extremely rare and prohibitively expensive, but the opulent Vision Gran Turismo stands out from the crowd even so, being a one-off concept built for the video game named Gran Turismo 6. Jack Lee – a car mechanic – still wanted one so badly that he went ahead and built his own copy.
Lee and his team used the available scrap metal and other affordable materials for the project, working in a regular garage. They welded the chassis together from metal pipes and pieced the body together from carefully hand-shaped metallic sheets painted Bleu de France. Powering the one-off ride is a powerful V8, although no further details are provided.
Alexander Selipanov and Etienne Salomé designed the original concept car five years ago based on Bugatti vehicles dating back to late 1930s. Sources of inspiration included the Type 57 Tank model created for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The only real-world Vision Gran Turismo hypercar used to belong to a Saudi Arabia prince before Tilly’s founder bought it for his personal collection.
