Buick has unveiled a design study in China that it called Proxima. According to AutoHome, the model will never go into production and should be used as a preview of the marque’s upcoming releases on the Chinese market. GM says it might start exporting China-made Buicks to other countries later on, so let’s have a look.
The Proxima is a rather original-looking sedan with LED strands for headlights and massive gull-wing doors. There are no b-pillars in its design, and the cabin only seats four. That said, the company hasn’t provided any closeup shots of the interior yet.
We are told that the trim consists exclusively of eco-friendly materials, notably including bamboo fiber and other natural ingredients. A deodorant built into the HVAC system can mix up scents to set up the mood depending on the weather and the environment around the car.
For the powertrain, all we know is that the Proxima runs all-electric. No further details are available.
