Buick just announced a luxury variant of its Regal liftback. First vehicles will roll into showrooms in the USA in the fall of 2018.
Buick Regal is essentially the U.S. name of the latest-generation Opel Insignia liftback and estate. The liftback will be the only one to get the luxury variant.
Compared to the main series, the Buick Regal Avenir has special badges on the front doors and sports a new, cellular radiator grille instead of the standard one with vertical fins. It rests on a set of exclusive 19-inch wheels.
The interior of the car greets with new seats draped in diamond-stitched leather and an infotainment system with GPS, voice recognition and cloud service access. The door sills bear special pads with the word “Avenir” written on them.
The equipment list includes EBS, lane control, adaptive cruise control, and a blind spot monitor. Some of these ship in the base, while others are available as options.
The new Buick Regal Avenir will be available with the front drive and the same engine as in the standard version (a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 250 hp / 186 kW).
Prices will be announced later. The standard Buick Regal sells for U.S. $25,000 and above.
