Video: Elderly Buick gets strapped with drug dealer aesthetics

Automotive classics, like this 1969 Buick Skylark convertible, present a prime basis for careful, historically accurate restoration projects. Or, you can ditch good taste and slap some rad wheels on instead.

As you have probably noticed, the owner of this particular car wanted to stand out from the crowd as much as possible, so he contacted Forgiato for a set of gargantuan forged rims. The custom-made wheel measures 30 inches in diameter and comes finished in Dark Gold, a rather questionable choice for a Candy Red car. No amount of suspension lowering or using low-profile tires could counteract the lifting effect, so the result is an abomination that probably wishes it were a horse-drawn carriage.

Paradoxically enough, the rest of the overhaul was executed rather professionally. Note especially the nice cabin wrapped in light cream-hued leather and the matching soft top. We have to wonder whether one and the same person was responsible for the restoration and those hideous wheels.
