Chinese carmaker BYD has taken the wraps off Han, its new flagship sedan/saloon that will hit the market in gasoline and all-electric versions.
The show car is electric and comes in two specs. The entry-level spec features a single front-axle mounted motor rated at 222 hp (165 kW) and 330 Nm (244 lb-ft) of torque. Its 65-kWh battery gives it up to 506 kilometers (314 miles) of NEDC-rated driving range. Customers may opt for a larger 77-kWh battery, which translates into 605 km (376 miles) of range.
The high-end AWD version keeps the same front-axle motor, but adds another one on the rear axle. The second motor generates 272 hp (203 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque of its own, resulting in 494 hp (368 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) total. This one sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and covers up to 550 km (342 miles) on its 77-kWh battery.
The cabin is quite premium-spec and features Nappa leather trim, power front seats, three-zone HVAC, panoramic glass roof, autopilot, and a 15.6-inch rotating multimedia display.
