BYD has complemented its compact e-CUV lineup with a new Yuan Up version called the Vitality Edition. Priced from 99,800 CNY, it is the cheapest one on the market right now.
Combining a single 95-PS (94-hp / 70-kW) electric motor with a 45-kWh battery pack, the Vitality Edition covers 401 km (249 miles) per charge. It rides on basic 16-inch wheels, has an 8.8-inch digital dash alongside a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a heads-up display, and comes with a four-channel audio system. Voice control, OTA updates and a 15W wireless charging pad are included as well.
The company introduced the 4.3-meter (168-inch) long Yuan Up in the spring, offering three main specs to choose from. The basic one had 95 PS (94 hp / 70 kW) and 32 kilowatt-hours of battery capacity, which let it cover 301 km (187 miles) on a charge. Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) took 12 seconds.
The middle-ground trim priced from 109,800 Yuan offered an upgrade to 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW) of electric power and 401 km (249 miles) of range from 45 kilowatt-hours of battery volume. The top trim started from 119,800 Yuan and had the same specs as the middle one, but better equipment. The sprint time was specified as 7.9 seconds for both.
