Cadillac has used the ongoing 2019 Detroit Motor Show as an opportunity to unveil the XT6, an all-new, seven-seat, flagship crossover/SUV. The car will become available in spring.
The Cadillac XT6 sports a few rather unusual exterior design traits, such as the horizontal LED headlights instead of Cadillac’s trademark vertical ones. The daytime running lights with integrated fog lights are still vertical, though.
At 5,050 mm (16.57 ft.) long, the dimensions of the SUV are comparable to those of the Volkswagen Teramont and Audi Q7. The car takes advantage of the modern C1XX platform and comes front-driven by default, although an on-demand AWD can be purchased at a premium.
The engine bay is occupied by a 3.6-liter, naturally aspirated engine rated at 314 hp (234 kW). It works in conjunction with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
With all three seat rows in, the trunk volume is rather limited at 356 liters. However, you can still fold the seats you don’t use for a total of 1,220 or even 2,228 liters.
The Sport trim will be also available with tuned suspension and steering, different bumpers, and faux carbon elements in the interior.
Cadillac remains silent about the pricing.
