Cadillac has released detailed technical specs of the upcoming performance versions of its CTx-V models. Sales won’t likely begin until next year.
tp put things into perspective, the standard Cadillac CT4-V comes equipped with a 2.7-liter turbo-four engine rated at 324 horsepower (242 kilowatts) and 500 Newton-meters (370 pound-feet) of torque. The current CT5-V packs a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 360 hp (268 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque.
The ‘warmed-up’ CT4-V Blackwing will get the same 3.6-liter turbo-six engine the ATS-V currently ships with, rated at 470 hp (350 kW) and 603 Nm (445 lb-ft).
In turn, the sported-up CT5-V is expected come to the market packing a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 of the CTS-V delivering up to 648 hp (483 kW) and 854 Nm (630 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. Transmissions are not discussed at this point, but we will most likely get a choice between manual and automatic.
On an interesting side note, the same supercharged V8 used to produce 659 hp (491 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque in the previous-gen Corvette. The difference is likely due to the dry-sump design of the new version.
