Car industry professionals continue to speculate on what kind of engine the new Chevrolet Corvette may get released with. Some say it might be a reworked V8 from the current generation, while others envision a brand-new V8 with 800 hp or so.
However it is, one thing has cleared up: the next Chevrolet Corvette will NOT be getting the 4.2-liter, twin-turbo V4 engine rated at 557 hp (415 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb·ft) of torque which comes with the hi-end Cadillac CT6 exhibited at the ongoing New York International Auto Show. Johan de Nysschen, President of Cadillac, has conclusively put that rumor to rest.
He went on to comment that the above mentioned engine suits a leisurely and comfortable driving style, while the new Chevrolet Corvette needs something with extra acceleration performance.
