Cadillac to release new flagship coupe in 2022 or later

Cadillac has applied for a patent setting forth the main design features of a forthcoming hi-end coupe model. If the car gets a series release, it is going to end up in the same market segment as the BMW 8-Series.

Based on the photos attached, the large and luxurious Cadillac coupe will take after the Escala Concept introduced two years ago. The vehicle has the same radiator grille, headlight and rear design.

There is no engine information available at the moment. The Cadillac Escala Concept came equipped with a 4.2-liter V8 turbo engine capable of 500 hp / 373 kW.

The car will likely be getting Super Cruise, a semi-autonomous driving system the manufacturer said it would be installing on its entire model range starting in 2020. The autopilot will use data gained from its radars, cameras, GPS sensors and auxiliary services to build optimal routes.

The two-door vehicle likely won’t be released until at least 2022, since the company is currently busy working on a new sedan and a few SUVs.
