Chinese tuner reimagines the Cadillac ATS-L as an executive sports car

Times may be slowly changing, but U.S. automobile brand Cadillac still upholds its core values of luxury, size, and comfort, making it a favorite among the upper-middle class clientele. Chinese tuner ZZP Performance takes things in a different direction, though.

In China, the Cadillac ATS sedan/saloon is available in a long wheelbase-version called ‘L’, which provides the starting point for this project. It boasts new 20-inch forged wheels, low ride height, an ATS-V-like rear spoiler, and a sporty diffuser with enormous twin tailpipes. The door handles are coated with chrome for some reason.

The cabin most likely stays stock (it isn’t shown anywhere), but the I4 2.0 engine gets a sizeable boost from its standard 275 hp (205 kW) to above 400 hp (300 kW). Tuned like this, the RWD saloon hits 60 miles per hour (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds. Whether an executive car needs this kind of added power remains open. It might certainly come in handy when you are late to an important meeting, and your chauffeur doesn’t mind speeding a bit past the legal limit. Not a responsible thing to do, but a possibility nonetheless.
