Cadillac will be wiping dust off a symbol it stopped using as long ago as the mid-1950s. Back then, the Goddess was a bonnet ornament not unlike Rolls-Royce’s famed Spirit of Ecstasy. It will not be sitting on any hoods anymore, though.
Instead, the company plans to integrate the image in the design of its $300,000+ Celestiq flagship (see video). For example, a special 3D representation of the Goddess will be applied to an aluminum plaque in the cabin next to the words ‘Hand Built Detroit’.
Another depiction will reside on the center tunnel dial. When rotated, the entire knob will turn but the image will remain upright at all times. Last but not least, the included OEM charger will display the outlines of the Goddess when plugged in.
The figurine used to be installed on Cadillac cars from 1930 through 1956. It used to be available exclusively to those who specified a V16 engine, but later became commonplace on all Cadillacs. In its latest incarnation, the company believes, the Goddess will represent “the pinnacle of bespoke craftsmanship”.
