2026 Cadillac Celestiq gets slapped with a $60k price hike

Cadillac has sold its entire Celestiq production batch planned for 2025 and is now taking preorders for the next model year, Automotive News reports. After streamlining its in-factory customization processes, the company decided to move more options into the standard trim, driving the price of the luxury electric saloon to $400,000.

Back when it was announced in 2022, the Celestiq had a $300,000 preliminary price tag. A year later, one of the company’s executives admitted that $340,000 before destination fees, taxes and dealership extras sounded more realistic. No specific prices were ever published. All vehicles are currently being made to order and personalized to ensure that no two identical examples exist.

Also, while the Celestiq is formally recognized as a three-year-old car at this time, the first production example was only delivered this June. In May, a Cadillac representative let it slip that the company was only planning to make 25 units for the entire model year 2025, and that some of them lingered without a prepaid reservation. This ran afoul of the company’s earlier statements about “high demand.”

The Cadillac Celestiq is 5.5 meters (over 18 feet) long with 3.3 meters (129 inches) between the axles. The U.S. version produces 664 PS (655 hp / 488 kW) and 875 Nm (645 lb-ft) of torque, sprinting from zero to 96.6 km/h (60 mph) in 3.7 seconds. The battery stores up to 111 kWh of energy and yields up to 488 km (303 miles) per charge.

Air suspension, 4WS and an infotainment suite with a display spanning the entire dashboard width come included as standard features. The next model year complements this list with a panoramic roof featuring four individually dimmable sections, and a package of connected services with an eight-year subscription.
