Cadillac highlights the handmade CT5-V Blackwing engine

Cadillac has found a new way to attract attention to its exclusive performance saloon. Apparently, a mechanic will be assigned to every CT5-V Blackwing that will piece together its LT4 series engine.

The production will take place in Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA. Cars will ship with a special plaque revealing the first and the last name of the person responsible for the assembly. The plaque can be located on the supercharger lid. AMG does the same with its V8 engines.

The CT5-V Blackwing uses a 6.2-liter V8 rated at 677 PS (668 hp / 498 kW) in conjunction with a Tremec six-speed manual. Its No-Lift Shift feature enables switching between gears while holding the accelerator pedal.

Paid options include carbon-ceramic brakes and a ten-speed automatic transmission with a mode called Dynamic Performance that activates upon reaching certain overload levels.
