Cadillac admits to keeping track of your track days

According to Cadillac Chief Engineer Brandon Vivian, the company tracks the racing activities of all V-Series car owners, recording who hit which raceways in a given month and how many times.

The data are not collected automatically. Instead, company representatives ask Cadillac car owner clubs, event organizers and racetrack owners to share the information. According to Vivian, this interest testifies to the seriousness with which Cadillac designs and improves its performance cars.

This is not to say that the marque makes buyers test out unfinished products: the latest CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing coming to the showrooms later this summer have been exhaustively tested on a number of North American raceways prior to production. Even so, there is no such thing as too much constructive feedback, Cadillac argues.
