Cadillac has both the will and the capabilities to mass-produce hypercars, but the development is going to take a while.
The corresponding statement was made by Michael Simcoe, Executive Director of Cadillac Global Design. According to him, this hypothetical hypercar will not necessarily be all-electric, either. Right now, the CT5-V Blackwing remains the company’s fastest street-legal ride to date.
As far back as 2002, the U.S. automobile maker presented a mid-engined design study called Cien (in the gallery and the video here). It packed a V12 and could technically fill the definition of a hypercar, but never became a reality.
