Buyers of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing may now opt for a package called Precision to benefit from sharper handling and more reliable braking on the racetrack.
The car’s steering mechanism, MagneRide shocks and electronic limited-slip differential have all been reconfigured for efficiency. Stock brakes have been replaced with carbon-ceramic ones best suited for intense use on the track that often leads to normal discs overheating.
Cadillac points out that casual daily drivers will also know to appreciate the steering improvements. With that said, the full potential of the Precision Package can only be truly unlocked on the racetrack.
The engine stays stock, which in the case of the CT5-V Blackwing means a 6.2-liter V8 boosted to 677 PS (668 hp / 498 kW) and 892 Nm (658 lb-ft) of torque. The drive stays on the rear axle, but you can choose between six-speed manual and ten-speed automatic for the transmission. At least, it is true for the standard Blackwing; Cadillac hasn’t specified whether the Precision Package is compatible with both transmission options.
